Mr. & Mrs. David Cox are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Darbie Lee to Zackary H. Beaver of Bakersville, NC. They will wed on December 17 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Brownfield. Darbie is a 2018 graduate of Brownfield High School and a 2021 graduate of Tarleton State University. She is employed as a Veterinary Technician at the Terry County Vet Clinic. Zack is a 2018 graduate of Mitchell County High School in Bakersville, NC and is currently a Specialist in the United States Army. They will make their home in Killeen, TX.

Undoubtedly, Brownfield and surrounding areas are in a dry spell and combining that with high temperatures, the city is under Stage 1 mild water shortage conditions. The City wants to reduce the daily water demand by 10 percent. Council members say they are not overly worried about the water issue...yet.
