Read moreThe rain this week has been a blessing for farmers but itjs caused serious problems on Browneld roads and in the surrounding area. An ambulance from Andrews driving on US 62/385 through Wellman, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 hydroplaned on the wet highway causing the ambulance to slide into the median and roll on the passenger side. That's according to the Terry County Sheriffjs Dept. Also, two vehicles tooded and stalled in the Draw on South 8th Street in Browneld while another vehicle stalled out on 6th and Reppto. The ambulance was transporting a patient along with an adult female passenger that was accompanying the patient to a Lubbock hospital. BRMC EMS responded to the scene and transported both the patient and the adult female to a Lubbock hospital with unknown injuries. The two EMTs with the Andrews ambulance were also transported by EMS and taken to BRMC with unknown injuries. Browneld Police Chief Tony Serbantez told The Browneld News, l We urge people to be safe on the streets when rain falls. When you are traveling around make sure to stay on high ground and if possible try to avoid the tood areas. This will pass so stay calm and be safe.'
