The Meadow Broncos kicked off their season with a home field win Friday night. The Broncos hosted the newly formed Lubbock All Saints Patriots.

Lubbock All Saints were the first to put points on the board, managing to go up 7-0 after scoring on their first drive.

The Broncos, however, were quick to answer back. Meadow fired back with a touchdown drive of their own.

With the PAT good, the Broncos went up 8-7. There were no more scores in the quarter.

In the second quarter, Broncos’ Senior Ruben Moya helped give Meadow a 16-7 lead.

Later in the quarter Sophomore Jordan Flores put another 6 points on the board for Meadow.

The score was 24-7 after a solid PAT by Senior Riley McBee. McBee was a perfect 8-for-8 on his extra point attempt kicks throughout the night.

With a little under four minutes to go, and the Broncos still leading 24-13, Meadow would go on to have two touchdowns revoked due to penalties.

After the first half of play, the Broncos focused on extending their lead.

The score was 40-13 before the Patriots were able to score again.

The Patriots began to make a small comeback in the remaining two quarters but the Broncos’ momentum could not be stopped.

After a bit of a fourth quarter shootout, the final score was 64-40, in favor of the hometown Broncos, as time ran out.

The Broncos will face the Petersburg Buffalos for their next regular season match up.

The Buffalos dropped their season opener to Borden County. The game will take place in Petersburg, with kickoff at 7:30 on Friday.
