Mr. Ewel DeWayne Holcombe, 78 years of age of Brownfield passed away on Saturday morning April 14, 2018 went home peacefully to Our Lord.   Ewel was born on November 6, 1939 in McAlester, Oklahoma, to George Walter Holcombe and Effie Mae Hankins.  He moved to Sundown, Texas from McAlester, Oklahoma, as a child with his parents. He married the love of his life Dorothy Kulms, of  Sundown, on April 15, 1962 in Brownfield and from this 55 year union they had one daughter Ida May Holcombe.  Ewel worked for Farmers Co-op for 22 years, farmed for AV Britain for 5 years and J.B. Riley. They moved to Brownfield from Sundown where they’ve settled.  Ewel’s hobbies were making wooden crosses, woodwork, carpentry, construction and building onto his home constantly renovating, or improving, oil painting by number pictures on his spare time, fishing, camping, hunting, watching wrestling :”Wrestle Mania”, watching the television show Parents Trap.  His greatest passion in his life was “Family” to spend time with his wife, and daughter, and all his grand children and great grandchildren.  He was proceeded in death by his parents George Walter and Effie Mae Holcombe, one daughter Ida May Holcombe Murph passed in October 2017, five Brothers: Glenn Holcombe, James Holcombe, Oscar Holcombe, John Holcombe, Taylor Holcombe, one Sister Hazel Kulms,  Ewel is Survived by spouse of 55 years Dorothy Holcombe of Brownfield, six grandchildren Micheal Murph, Mackenzie Brodas, James Taylor, Misti Murph, Megan Murph, Cassie Reynolds. Twelve Great Grand children. One Brother: Joe Holcombe of San Antonio, three Sisters: Josephine Lively of Dallas, Ruthie Ellison of Alabama, Mae Bell of Las Vegas, Nevada. Funeral Services were Held Tuesday April 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at  Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel of Brownfield. Officiating Pastor Nick Robertson, Interment was at Brownfield Cemetery of Brownfield.  A Special Thanks to The Interm Hospice of Brownfield, by the Holcombe family.  Under the Direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home and Staff of Brownfield.
