The Brownfield Cubs 8th Grade A team finished the season Thursday night with a perfect record. The boys defeated Denver City in Cub Stadium to cap their 9-0 record for 2016. Lady Cubs fall to Lady Mats

The Brownfield Lady Cubs volleyball team were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday as they fell to the Lady Mats from Estacado by a score of 23-25, 25-27 and 16-25.

The Ladies needed to win out to have a shot at the playoffs. The Estacado game at home was the lone district victory for the young Lady Cub team.…

Lady Cats ready for playoffs

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats, who have already secured a playoff berth, faced the Klondike Lady Cougars on Saturday. Klondike, who is also playoff bound by virtue of winning the district, won the match in three sets. The scoring went 19-25, 13-25 and 15-25.

State-ranked Broncos stampede Ropes

The Meadow Broncos took a commanding win over the Ropesville Eagles to start their District run Friday night.

The visiting Broncos won by a score of 54-8, late in the fourth quarter.

The Brownfield Cub tennis team claimed the Area Championship Friday with tournament wins over Seminole and Pampa to advance to the 4A Regional tournament next week in Abilene.
