Lady Cats start district play with win

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats headed to Aspermont for their first district game of the season on Tuesday, September 5 and came away with a hard fought victory.

The Ladies opened the match by dropping the first two sets to Aspermont 18-25 and 15-25. But the Lady Cats were not to be denied as they battled back to win the last three sets by scores of 25-13, 28-26 and 16-14.…

Wellman-Union Cross Country opens season

Wellman-Union Lady Cats and Cats opened the Cross Country season in Plainview on September 2, with the Lady Cats finishing 13th among 19 A-4A varsity schools.

Jade Griffiths was the first to the finish for the Lady Cats finishing 37th from among 141 runners.  Ally Mixon finished next in 49th, followed by Mercedes Alaniz in 84th.…

Wildcats drop opener to Loraine

The Wellman-Union Wildcats took to the road on Friday night to face the Loraine Bulldogs.

The Wildcats found the going pretty tough for their first true game of the season and their first game under the guidance of Head Coach Joseph Hood, with a final score of 50-14.

Wellman-Union Lady Cat Volleyball is starting off on the right foot with a winning season so far. With almost everyone back from last year’s play-off team, expectations are as high as Jacy Rowden’s jumps.

Tennis wrap up

The Brownfield Cubs tennis team took 10 qualifiers to the 4A regional tournament, hosted at the McLeod Tennis Center, on the campus of Texas Tech University.  

The Cubs fought hard as their season came to an end with fierce competition all around.
