Powerlifting results

The Brownfield Cubs and Lady Cubs Powerlifting Teams went to Tahoka to the Co-op Powerlifting Meet recently and competed well, according to Coaches Ventura Peralez, Jr. and Jeff McElroy.

Cats, Lady Cats take two from Wilson

It was a slow start for the Wellman-Union Lady Cats as they were on the road facing the Wilson Lady Mustangs on Friday. The Lady Cats had soundly defeated the Wilson five earlier in the season, and were likely expecting that same outcome.

The Wellman-Union Wildcats met the Sudan Hornets on Friday afternoon and the Wildcats were on the winning side of the 48-36 score.

Cubs top Odessa Permian

After a tough go in last week’s Caprock Tournament, the Brownfield Cubs wasted no time getting back on the court, this time against a fast and physical squad from Odessa Permian Monday afternoon in Cub Gym.

The game was neck and neck for its entirety, with both teams swapping leads and several ties, before the Cubs pulled away slightly with a minute to go and clinched the win, 51-45, over the 6A Panthers.…

Lady Cats compete at Sands

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats competed in the Sands Tournament last weekend and ended up 1-2 for the tourney.

The Ladies lost to Sands 54-41. They then lost to a much larger Post team 61-45. They faced Buena Vista on Saturday and came away with a huge 58-15 win. The two top scorers for the tourney were Gracen Key with a total of 45 points over three games and Jacy Rowden who finished the tournament with 54 points.…
