Cubs to swat Yellowjackets

The Brownfield Cubs will host the Kermit Friday night as they return home after a grueling road schedule to take on the Yellowjackets in their final pre-district warm up in front of a Homecoming crowd.

The Cubs lost a lopsided contest last week to the oversized Abilene Wylie Bulldogs.

Cub netters take early lead in District 2-4A

As the dust settled at the high school tennis courts in Levelland last week, the Brownfield Cubs stood alone at the top of the district 2-4A team tennis race. The Cubs bested Levelland 12-7 on their home courts to remain undefeated in district after the first round of district play.

Broncos to host Sands

The Meadow Broncos are gearing up for their homecoming game this week.

The Broncos will host the Sands Mustangs after coming off of a big win last Friday against the Spur Bulldogs.

The Broncos scored 60 total points in the game, while holding the Bulldogs to 12. The offensive stats leaders for the game were Jacob Flores who completed 6/13 passes for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, Jordan Flores who carried the ball for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Chanse Smith who caught 2 passes for 65 yards and scored 3 touchdowns.…

Wildcats face Longhorns in Homecoming match-up

The Wellman-Union Wildcats had to battle for four quarters last week against Plainview Christian Academy but they did come away with the 40-32 victory.

This week is Homecoming Week for the Wildcats as they host the Hart Longhorns in a non-district battle.

Another piece of history gone

A house that holds a place in Terry County history is now gone. The Hamilton-Ridgway house on David Bailey Road is no more. Time was taking a toll and vandals pretty much finished the job. The house had been lived in as recently as within the last year or so, but vandals, worthless as they are, pretty well rendered this historic home inhabitable.…
